There are several historical places in Minnesota that you can visit and not only have fun but also learn some historical facts that they you probably didn’t know before. If you have plans to travel through Minnesota or even if you have relocated recently to the state, you may want to add these three historic sites to your must-see list.

1. Charles A. Lindbergh State Park

Charles A. Lindbergh State Park is one of the historic places in Minnesota. This park is located on the Mississippi River and is great for camping, hiking, a quaint picnic areas and ski trails. There is also a Work Projects Administration shelter used for picnics. On the Mississippi River, you can go fishing, canoe one the Pike Creek or take walks on the trails on the park. The parks measures about 436 acres and every year it attracts many visitors.

2. Paul Bunyan and Babe

Another great location to visit is the Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. These are the names that are used to refer to a pair of large statues of Paul Bunyan and his ox. This is an old American folk hero and it is located in Bemidji, Minnesota. This place has been registered on the National Register of Historic Places since 1988. This city of Bemidji which is located in a lake region has been receiving tourists ever since 1890s era. In 1898 a rail connection was made and it necessitated development of hotels, cottages and resorts which you can get to visit and see while in Bemidji.

3. The Historic Fort Snelling
The Historic Fort Snelling is another National Historic Landmark that is located on 200 Tower Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55111. This location provides admission for children and adults. This site overlooks the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers hence having a very beautiful scenic view. Despite the fort being closed in 1946 after being opened in 1820, all the stories and events during that time can be learned from Fort Snelling.
