There are many fun and economical things you can do in the summertime. You can bike, fish, scuba dive, enjoy whitewater rafting, stroll in a beautiful park, bowl or swim.
Theme Parks
Theme parks are a favorite for many families. Theme parks offer many fun things to do such as swimming, enjoying the rides, tasting great food and many other activities. Or, how about camping? If you have an RV, an SUV or just a family car, you can travel to many camping sites—sites found in many US state parks and have a great time hiking or horseback riding. On camping trips you can also play games such as Apples to Apples, Monopoly or card games such as UNO. These games are fun and often last for hours. Or how about seeing a movie in the afternoon? Some theaters offer $1 matinees on certain days during the summer.
Your Local Library
Then, you can also visit your public library and check out some books of interest or rent an entertaining DVD or two. Most libraries also provide story time for children, arts and crafts and other activities for children—and most of the activities for children and adults are free.
Bowling
Or, how about a fun game of bowling? Bowling is fun, inexpensive and wonderful entertainment for the whole family. No matter how old or young you are, bowling is not only fun but good exercise. And, after several games of bowling, you can sit down later for a great tasting meal of burgers and fries, steak, ribs and a favorite beverage or go to the bowling pro shop or the arcade.
